  • On a budget

Well I only have 450 bucks right now so I was wondering if anyone can give me a list of everything I would need to get started like oven and all without going over 450 bucks. As soon as I get these questions answered I am going to order my PC kit this week or however long it takes.
    Thanks for any help.

1st Question is are you planning on doing Sand blasting to clean and prep the parts? If yes you can not do it on that budget. You will need at least a $400 Compressor to have enough guts to Sandblast. I got a 5 hp/21 gal and it will not last more than a min at 90 PSI. Now it works great working on the car and spraying Powder coating :P

Compressors are no problem since I have a few of them and they are big 500 dollar ones. I can't remember the size of them but one of them are on a job for construction right now but I got a big one in the garage and a medium sized one that is on the job. So that's not an issue. What is a list of everything I will need?
      Thanks again man.

depending upon the size of the parts you want to do, the oven will be the biggest chunk of $$, if you plan on doing small parts you can pick up a used house oven and that will work for alot of things...then spend your $$ on your powders, spray booth and blast cab..sounds like your into construction so you should be able to scrounge the stuff to build the blast cab and spray booth..not knowing what you plan to pc makes it hard to suggest anything really..

Well everything I will do will be pretty big. If I end up getting this 1933 Chevy that I am looking at then I will do the frame, frames on motorcycles, rims for motorcycles and my golf carts..... basically big things but some small stuff will be done but not as much as big frames and all....

well...doing something like a car frame is gonna take a preety good size oven..not to mention the handling of the weight...I hear the guys here talking about useing infered and the mister heaters ...that would work i guess...but noot for me...to many things to go wrong doing things in sections...i get lost easy not to mention i dont keep the cleanest shop till im ready to do something...if...your going to do alot of nig things i would suggest you build an oven...its spendy..but it can be done fairly cheap if you dont mind scrounging some things..ya ought to call me or e-mail me so we can do this right..

Thanks Wayne. Well I keep my shop or garage really clean all the time so that isn't a problem but I really do not have the money for a oven at the moment. I don't have a job or anything and it has taken me about a year almost to get this 400 bucks and now I got 200 more but 200 of them is going towards a 33 chevy truck that I wan't so I don't know. Do you have MSN, Hotmail, or AIM for a messenger to talk about this instead of email?
If so then let me know which one you have and youe screen name and all.
Thanks again for the help too man.
