  • Would aluminum work to build an oven?

I have the sources for 4x8 aluminum sheets for less than $40 a sheet. 24 gauge sheet metal goes for about $52 a sheet around here. Could I build an oven from aluminum, or does it have to be steel. I have a TIG welder, and can weld the aluminum. Thanks for your input.

Remote- sorry for the delay, I haven't checked forum in a while.
Aluminum works, I have aluminum panels in my oven. One downside though-- you have to design it to allow for alot of expansion and contraction. The panels in my oven look straight and tight when up to temp, but when cold there isn't a straight panel in the oven.Steel is more stable to work with.
