I have a 90 Laser inter-cooled turbo that runs Nitrous & 21 lbs. boost. I thought I would try and PC the heat shield (Non-High heat powder). Well after a very short run of nitrous, high RPM, and High boost, I pulled in the driveway and seen smoke?? Within seconds a big ball of orange fire bellowed out from under the hood. We had to use an extinguiser to get it out. It was the powder coat burning like gas.
The PC was chrome base with candy purple and the top coat was clear coat mixed with glow in the dark purple phospheresent.
P.S. I previously did this on a 2003 honda civic heat shield. It has been on now for about 4 weeks and hasn't even been affected in anyway??
I JUST THOUGH PEOPLE COULD LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!
