Looks like you need a little more air pressure and a little less powder in the cup. When I put close to that much PC in the cup that is the exact thing that happens.

Caswell kit, of course,
I shook the can good, funneled contents into plastic lab bottle with smaller mouth to more easily load cups without spilling. loaded cup 1/2 full and shook up a bit more but not much.
powder went on about 1/4 inch thick, had to knock it off, it kept a coat on so as they were test pieces, I baked them anyway, came out ok but thick coated. looked like dipped in liquid rubber.
I will try again tonight, keep the help coming.
Thanks,
Bob

Sounbds like the powder is clumping. Try shaking the cup with the lid on to 'airiate' the powder.
It's a bit like putting flour through a sieve to make the cake lighter.

I bought the 100 buck hobby kit,
the gun was at level,

was like dumping the can on it....

new gun not spraying
Hi all,
Just got my PC kit. Been reading up a while before I purchased the PC kit. Sounded pretty straight forward.
Prepped some test parts, made a spray box, hooked everything up..
The powder comes out in some nice huge blobs, air at 12lb as it goes to 10 as the trigger is pulled, air screw on gun screwed all the way in, system on, ground clipped, foot switch engaged, pulled trigger.
I think I could have gotten better coverage just dumping the powder out of the can.....
I pulled the trigger 4-5 times thinking just work in the gun. about 1/2 can had come out and piled on the bottom tray of the booth, (thank god I used your trick to ground a flat pan on the botton for recovery...
No way I can get an even coat out of this sprayer.
HELP
