I'm just about finished with my new walk in blast room. I need some info on who makes the best gun? I also am wondering about what type of hood or complete suite people have used and liked. obviuosly i'm looking for a air fed hood or suite. thanks guys

i jut recieved a waring and had my post removed from this topic. I believe it was because i listed a web adddress for a company that sells walkin sand blast suits and hoods. none of which i thought caswell even was in the market for. if this is the reason for my warning and possibly being kicked off this forum i think thats a little sad! I RECIEVED THE ADRRESS FROM SOMEONE ELSE FROM THE CASWELL FORUM!
i WOuld never do anything that jeopordized the intent of caswells site. i understand that it is here to help boost thier revenue but i ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS HERE SO US HOBBIEST COULD LINK UP TOGETHER AND SHARE GOOD IDEAS AND INFORMATION. IF I AM WRONG AND CASWELL SELLS THESE PRODUCTS FOR WHICH I PUT UP A COMPETITORS SITE I AM VERY SORRY. Jeff-- you might just be ****ing up hill. This is Caswell's site and we all know why its here.As for your posting, your intentions sound innocent however there may have been other products on the site that did compete with Caswell's or it was just a bit too close for their liking.In either case Caswell has the finall say. My 2 cents are don't dwell on it. I've had a couple removed and you just can't take it so personally, it's just business.

i think we got a little side tracked on this topic. i would really like a bit of info on which three medias are the most popular and why. also is thier a better suction gun and tip out thier than the average unit. also is thier a optimum tip size to suction hose size ratio. what i mean is what is the best ratio for air pressure and hose size to the gun from the compressor, and then tip size on the gun and media pick up size for that line.
if it were easy everyone would be doing it right?

yes i know what comes in a blast cabinet, but when you lenghten out the hoses a bit do we need to adjust for pressure drops. my media suction tip is three feet under my booth so it is going to be on about 15 t0 20 feet of hose. jeff

I use red garnet. I called an outfit here in Wa State to try their product, thinking I'd be able to pick it up and save on shipping...They delivered 1000 lbs. of it for FREE! Maybe they thought I might be that next big contract...Offhand I don't remember how course it is, but it is what they use for blasting bluejeans to get that well-worn look. The dust created is very low compared to the glass bead that I used to use. It may or may not be what you're looking for As for a suction gun, I bought one from SnapOn. The dealer asked what size compressor I was running and sized the tip accordingly. Zero problems with it for over a year now. Good luck and have fun!
