I have finished my spray booth and want to start coating some parts for real. Have coated a few parts and they look great.

But how thick is the coating on my parts and how thick should it be?

Did I put enough powder on?

So is there a cheep way of measuring the mil thickness?

How manny square feet area will 1 pound of powder do at a normal application rate?

There are recommended mil thicknesses for every powder, check with the manufacturer.
There are cheap mil thickness gauges that are scraper gauges, but it's a destructive test.
Coverage will depend on the specific gravity of the powder and how heavy it is applied. This info should also be available through the powder manufacturer.

I could have swore i read a post a while back and someone mentioned using a electronic temp sensor on the part it self. i thought it read something to the affect that it measured restance on the part from the heat change but i dont remember exactly. if some one knows how to make or where to buy this give me a shout out. jeff
