  • Noob2PC Q for you!

what kind of red did you used the the red fiero parts on the album ?
    caswells safety red ?
cuz I just did some parts on the safety red and it looks diferent than yours
did you used some clear on them ??

I used Harbor Freight Red on those parts. The safety red is different. I will also ad that I have had a lot less problems wit the Caswell powders. The Harnor frieght stuff tends to orange peel a lot easier that Caswells.

        hmmmmm ,safety red is caswells
and I didn't said it was bad , it was just not the tone of red I was looking for
still it looked better than the one I was looking for after a 500+ clear , caswells powders are some of the best I've seen

The worst part is the HF red is real close match to the Stock Red color. Shame it is poor quality. I went with Yellow/Black so I could use Caswell Powder and not worry about color matching :P As a matter of fact, I am taking my Valve covers in to have the paint shop match the powder's color

            I've never seen HF powders
I used columbias most of the time but lately the quality has gone down or atleast on the colors I got
I ordered some of caswells colors a few weeks ago to try them and was impresed .

did you had any problems applying the yellow and black with the same gun or did you used 2 guns ? I had to buy a new gun just to use yellow , white and clears
cuz I always got dots of other colors on the finish didn't matter how well I cleaned the gun always got them .

I did have dots when I first started, the Customer ended up liking the effect so I got lucky! I just use lots of air and blow out the gun real well. I also have 1 cup just for cleaning up and use 120 PSI and that normally cleans it our real well.

sounds like a gun cleaning issue.
I've read a lot of posts about differnt guns, caswells gun is great, what others you guys use.
If you dont clean her out you will get speckles/spots from others.
Unsrew the small air adjusting screw on the bottom and blow the gun out real good from that point, the pick tube and exit(tip) for at least min. each and alternate the blow out/cleaning process in each whole for a while.
May take a few minutes, but I can go from white to black with no problems doing it this way.
Is there a faster color change with other guns?

I do have one Cup labeled cleanning. I used it when I blow out the gun. I wash it out after each use. I also set the gun to Max pressure to blow it out and use my trigger tip to blow out the pick up tube.

the only reason I have 16 cups is HF screwed up and priced the Boxed pairs @ $2.50 a box or $3.99 a cup! I'll take the box.
