Brian,
Get a thermostat from a junked electric oven and wire it to the female end of an old extension cord and plug your heater into it. It will cycle the power to the heater on and off for temp. control. . Make sure that the gas to the burner turns off if the heater loses power.

Thanks for advice Tin, I will give it a try.
In my opinion, this is a geat starter way into pc'ing, especially if you have an old freezer laying around.
