  • refinishing vintage hood ornaments

i\'ve recently become a collector of vintage hood ornaments. the problem is, some are in pretty bad shape -- with lots of pitting, flaking, etc.

in one case, an old cadillac \"goddess\" has facial features that are pitted.

since these are vintage, i want to recreate the same original look, and not make them look \"overly\" chromed.

can someone help point me in the right direction? for example, should i use a solder filler?

    thanks.

These are likely Pot Metal pieces. You can use a product called Solder-It to repair the pits, then our Triple Chrome Plating Kit to re-chrome them.
