  • Powder Scratches Easley

I powder coated a couple of engine brackets gloss black; they looked great when I was done. I put them in my truck seat and one ended up lying on top of the other.
My drive was about 30 min and they put scratches on each other from the vibrations of the drive.
I thought the powder would not scratch easy; one was just resting on top of the other.
Is this a sign of not long enough curing? I will be more careful in the future but it seemed to scratch easy.
    Thanks

Sounds like under cure. Make sure that the part reaches the powder cure temp. and remains there for the specified time.

      Thanks,
I figured that was what it was. I got busy and forgot to check the time I put it in. I need to get a timer to remind me.
