Re: Hanging wheels
I use thin chain. I wrap it around the center of the wheel. It is not seen when the tire is mounted.
Good Luck

make a jig. I coat motorcycle wheels all the time & make jigs out of 1/2" box tubing & tap some threads in the arms of the jig @ 0, 120 & 240 deg. to clamp the wheel. it works great.

Eyebolt bolted through the valve stem hole. The eyebolt will allow them to hang "upright" if it's the right length. The eyebolt shold be small enough to go through the hole, and a nut on each side of the wheel.
Once the wheel is done, the new valve stem installed will cover any missed spots where it was hung.EMAIL [email protected]

I have a question on wheel procedures. Can't I just lay the wheel flat on a metal grill for ground and shoot downward? Is there a problem shooting this way? I figure gravity will help with the powder laying well.

The fact is, you can't just coat one side effectively, as you have to strip/blast the wheel to begin with (If it's a steelie or an alloy) to make sure you don't have burn off ruinb your work when you coat. If you leave paint on or any clear from an alloy, the stuff will yellow and might actually smoke and mess up the coat you desire. Might as well coat the whole wheel,..... by hanging it so you can get all angles, front and rear.EMAIL [email protected]

I got your point. Sounds very logical. I am going to try a practice wheel only concentrating on the front (visible side) first just to see what I have to work on after the over-all job is done. Thanks again for the advice!!!

The eyebolt idea sounds great so that it will hang vertically. I've always used a washer and soft wire. Wrap the soft wire through the washer and then stick the wire through the valve stem hole. The washer should wedge itself sideways in the valve stem hole. Then I twist a loop in the other end of the wire and hang it with a hook.
