  • Extending Oven

I want to extend my oven by about 6 inches. Has anybody tried this? I only need it to work for one part that is too long to fit in my oven. Any help or ides would be appreciated.

done it many times...check around at your local heating and refridgeration repair shops, they usually have old heater ducts and furnaces that they are happpy to have hauled away, the cool thing is alot of them that are trashed have good squirle cages and motors in them..

      Hey Capt'n:
Check out the below link. Scroll down about 2/3 of the page & look for instructions on "Pregnant Oven". It will take you about 20 minutes & about $30.00 in materials. I did it (before I biult a 8' oven) & it works.

      Good Luck

I realize it's been awhile since you guys talked about this subject, but I'm trying to get up to speed on build my own ovens. Can you take two kitchen ovens cut them apart and then weld them together to make a bigger oven. Say 4 x 2 ?? Back to front to make a horizontal design or bottom to top to make a vertical oven. Please let me know what you think.

        Thanks Harley
