probably a dumb question but when doing wheels do most of you out there powder the area where the tire covers (bead area). just wondering if it affects sealing of tire / during mounting of tire does this powder usually get damaged. thanks for replies in advance.

I powder the whole rim including the bead. Never had a problem.

yeah-just shoot the whole wheel. the bead will still set. I only do motorcycle wheels & have never done any car or truck wheels & always cut strips of thick plastic like a milk carton or something like that to place in between the wheel & the tool used to put the tire on.
