I am using the hobbie gun and last night while I was coating the trigger stuck! I had to unhook the air line to make it stop, has this happened to anyone? I took the trigger machanizm out of the gun and everything looked good- nothing that could make it stick open. Am I missing something here? I turned the line pressure down real far to finish the piece (I have a pressure regulator on the gun),and just turned the air adjustment screw off when stopping for a second- any help guys!?!

Same here, cleaning the plunger parts does wonders. I also use a really small amount of silicone grease on the O-ring.Steve Dold

My gun opeated fine for the better part of a year, through probably 20-30 square feet of coatings. Then recently, the trigger stuck open, so I took it apart for a look-see.
The plunger mechansim was coated with powder, and would not slide freely. You can see traces of all 3 of the colors I had been using - black, orange & silver:

I looks like small amounts of powder can make it back down the fluidizing tube and into the trigger, so I make cleaning the plunger a regular maintenance chore now.

one of mine a couple months ago when you would press the trigger would do nothing, you would have to use the twist knob regulator to allow the air to flow, i have started to clean my gun all the time, seeing as this wreaked gun was the one used at school, no-one obviously cleaned it ever, let alone clean the powder on the outside of it.

I did clean the plunger thing and your right it was pretty dirty. But after I put it all back togather it stille would leak by- I'll try the grease idea, hopefully that works. As for air pressure I normally set my line pressure around 40psi and regulate it on the gun but to get it to stop I had to cut it down to like 20- and the gun didn't work that well like that!Save the trees- burn Rubber!

40 psi seems a tad bit high you might try around 20 and regulate, rember its not an aresol can . ya dont want to blow the powder off and past the part. It's much better to build the powder up slowly and evenly rather than dumping it on..
