I have tried the Super Chrome powder and it gives a very nice chrome-like finish. When I clear coat it (HFSD), however, as is supposed to be required, it dulls the finish which ends up 'milky' or like a polished aluminum. I have tried clear coating the heated (150 deg and 200 deg) Super Chrome plated part with no better results. I have tried both thin and thick clear coats - no luck. It is a shame to lose the original chrome-like finish. Is there a technique to keep it? Does the Super Chrome have to be clear coated - what about wax or ?? How long does it take before it really tarnishes (does it REALLY have to be clear coated)? Are other clear coats better than HFSD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
