I powder coated some plastic center caps the same color I did my stock 300zx wheels, it was a titanium color, worked well just have to keep a CLOSE eye on it otherwise u will melt them.

    Re: Plastic anyone??

Got an interesting idea yesterday from my Tiger-Drylac rep that someone might want to try.

He suggested PC'ing non-conductive items such as glass, ceramic and plastic by spraying the item with a very fine mist of water, letting it dry slightly and then PC'ing.

The fine water mist makes the item conductive.

Of course, in the case of plastic, you still have the curing temp issue, but it might be worth an experiment or two.

i did some valve covers off a 98 mustang. they are plastic. i heated them up to 200 then shot color on them, them i eased the temp up to 400 for 20 min. they looked good. only problem is that if it chips, scraches it will strat to flake off. it doesn't stick to plastic like metal.

    ONE plastic doesn't conduct electricity.
TWO plastic melts, softens, distorts at cure temperatures.
