Can I drill/mill a part after I pc it?
I make a product out of aluminum and can I machine a slot into the part after I coat instead of taping it off?

Yes but it's best to put tape over the area your going to machine to help keep the edge from chipping. Be sure your tooling is sharp. SS

i fully agree but try a test piece first. and make sure the powder is fully cured or the cutting oil/fluid could dull the finish.

I agree with the tape, I would also make the first cut a skim cut, JUST through the powder, at a higher cutting speed. This will help eliminate chipping. Next and subsequent cuts at normal cutting speed.

Follow up question...do you need to "seal" the newly machined areas with a clear coat to ensure that the edges don't chip?

No, not normally.

you will need to seal them with wax at mininum to keep the oxidation from dulling the fresh cut alum. or you can always pc then machine and then clear coat pc the whole part.
