    Re: lollipop red question

You mean silver flakes in red? or fire mist additives, then yes. I have used them before and to really get a nice effect do it in the candy, then top coat with clear to underlay the fakes, so companys will sell you stuff that will bump out in the coating after curing.

will the red cover the silver in the silver flake? or will the silver flake look silver? I'm after a red metallic effect.

Your original thought was correct - you want the red sparkle additive, not the silver.

            Re: lollipop red question

When I liquid paint, my little "trick" is that I use pearl mid-coats alot. One that I do alot when using candies is using a silver pearl, then when the candy goes over it, it will sparkle the color or the candy. (looks really killer with silver and red candy over black!)

I don't want to put any base down as it is going over half polished billet. thanks for the replies.

                  Re: lollipop red question

look for the bike frame in my pictures, i did it in the lollypop red with gold flake, it turned out great, it did however lighten the red a bit, instead of the usual dark lollypop color, it looked great tho, go for it.

I can't really see the gold flake, but otherwise the pics look great.
