I had an engine built last year for my truck, and they painted it a Ford Blue color using spray paint cans. It has been sitting unstarted since then and has started to flash rust, can I still powdercoat the engine block if I mask off all holes and openings? You would think an engine filled with oil could handle up to 450deg. but just wondering what you guys think. Thanks.

Re: Engine Block question
I dunno man... I consider gaskets, any silicone. as for the oil.. i think there would be burn-off (contamination of powder), plus i'd have to think out-gassing would be impossable with a pan full of oil. the paint would have to go too.
Personally? i wouldn't do it unless it was a bare block. just my 2 centsIf it jams; Force it. And if it breaks it needed replacing anyway.
I can go from 0 to "What seems to be the problem Officer?" in 3 seconds."
