Got the oven done now its time to purchase a gun. After doing some research it looks like the pros are saying i need at least a 25 kv gun or don't waste my time.On the other hand i've talked to some guys who say their harber freight and east and columbia guns work just fine useing 12 to 16 kv.Will the guns with lower kv get in the corners and deep areas well? What about second coats?Looks like the cost takes a drastic jump going from 12 to 25 kv.What is the best gun for under say, 400 bucks?Really need some help here. Thanks

Re: what KV gun do i REALLY need?
If you can wait approx 12 weeks, we will have a 35-50kV gun available for less than $200.00.--

Re: what KV gun do i REALLY need?
Boink117,
Usually you want lower voltage for doing corners and tight spaces. Higher voltage works better on big open areas, more powder gets to the part and 2nd coating is easier until you get to the corners and tight spaces.
Caswells hobby gun would probably work fine for 99% of what you're doing. You can always pick up Caswells new 12 week gun later.
Besides, you'll need to get some practice in

If it jams; Force it. And if it breaks it needed replacing anyway.
