Here is my RAL2002 its from Tiger Drylac. This pic is pretty true to color as well. Not red, but Orange. have to test both NIC and Tiger powders at the same time. Thought RAL was supposed to be standard, but kinda looks not?

This is the color I am looking for. I think the pictures posted seem to red. What do you think?

      Maybe not.

I tell you what....you pay the shipping and I will send you some RAL 2002 powder for free so you can do a test for yourself. I got the RAL 2002 from Matt at Powder by the pound....I think they get their powder from Tiger. PM me if you want to do this.

PSS 163 is NIC's CHEVY ORANGE, it is a dead match to chevy orange paint( if you have paint mixed and not buy spray cans, though it's still almost spot on) I don't ever take pictures of things I've coated, but NIC's chevy orange is spot on, I've tried Eastwood's, and Columbia's and they weren't.

So, how do you powder coat the valve covers and not do the top of the fins?

You got three choices. Any of them are time consuming, but some less then others.
                1 - mask it all
2 - Coat it then Use a damp sponge brush and dab it off.
3 - Coat it and then use your fingers to wipe it off.

I do the finger thing, another option is to powder it, then sand and polish the fins. All time consuming unfortunatly.

I acctually used a dry foam paint brush. Worked awesome. Found damp to smear the powder more than remove it.

Not gonna try anything else, NIC PSS-163 is spot on for Chevy orange and the powder performs flawlessly.
