What is the best powdertype to use regarding UV resistance and chemical resistance like fuel and such? I hear very different stories, all from "dont ever powdercoat a gastank" to "it wont last a year in the sun"....

Polyurethane would be the best. Polyurethanes are typically resistant to many acids, salts, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons (gasoline & solvents), grease, and oils. They stand up to outdoor use and are the hardest of the coatings.

Polyesters (TGIC) hold up well outdoors but are not as resistant to solvents.

Epoxy powder should never be used outdoors. While it has high a chemical resistance, it has little or no UV resistance. It chalks quickly when exposed to sunlight.

There are other $pecialized powders but these are the ones most available.
