  • Wrinkle finish

I can't seem to make the black wrinkle powder to come out wrinkly at all. Isn't is supposed to be dull and textured? It just comes out sorta wrinkly, but glossy. I've tried leaving it in for less time but that doesnt seem to work either...
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Try spraying it on thicker, never had a problem that way with the wrinkles.

If that doesn't work, please post a problem report on our PRS system and if we can't solve the problem, we'll ask our suppliers tech dept, but we need a proper record in our system, so please do post a problem report, not simply a question here.

Our experience with wrinkle problems as you described are actually opposite your aatemps at correcting. Too heavy and under cure will result in a glossy and smoother finish. Measure your film build and compare it with the powder's TDS.

Here are a few hints that I hope will help.

            Dry Film - 1.5 - 3.0
            Cure - 12m at 400
            Gloss should be about 15%

When you spray, stay back from the part approximately 10 feet. Let the powder flow on. Please try this and let me know how this works for you.

If I sprayed from 10 feet away, the powder would never reach the part

If you spray from too far away the larger particles will try to drop out of the air stream prior to hitting part. I suggest useing just enough air pressure to get it to spray then get closer stay at least 3 to 5 inches away from part or you will probably get back ionization wich causes other finish defects.Check the part carefully for a nice even coverage prior to cure.Run your temp around 400F for a quick cure.
