  • Oven metal

Trying to decide between stainless ($$$$$) or regular sheet metal to build my oven with. My question is, will the galvanization on the regular metal interfere with the curing process?

The galvanizing won't bother the powder process. I selected stainless and aluminum for my current oven but my last one was steel.Part of it was galvanized and the rest was uncoated, both worked well but raw sheet metal was hard to clean.

      Dale,
What do you figure the cost of an oven with a 4x4x6 working area with 4 elements (if that is enough elements) would cost to make.

Many variables to figure.I don't know what you have available to you or your buying arrangements with suppliers. The simpler you make it the cheaper it will be, common sense<. But fair guess not knowing these things would be between $200 to $600 dollars. If you go about right it might be a bit less or you could go nuts and spend thousands of dollars.

Galvaneal will work fine for ovens operating up to 850F.
