  • air tight oven vs vented oven

another thing i am confused about. I read about how you want a nice air tight oven with a door seal...... but then i read you should vent your oven... how does this work.

What is the purpose of venting besides letting fumes out? does the air expand that much during heat up? How does one vent an oven without loosing all the heat like a chimney?

    Hello purpony
Yes you need the oven vented. Just install a 1 to 2 inch pipe through the top with a couple of 90*s to form a upside down U. That lets the expanding air out.

Make sure you only use around a 1/2 dia. pipe, 1 or 2 inches.
