  • NEWBIE First Oven Build

    Hello All,

I am going to be attempting to build my first oven following the guide on powdercoatguide.com that was done by KNJ guy. My oven will be a replica of the one in the guide almost exactly. One question I have is will a thinner gauge metal have any adverse effects if used in my build ? If not what would be the thinnest I could use before I have problems. Only reason I am wanting to go a lighter gauge is because galvanized steel sheet is pretty pricey these days and I would like to try to save where I can. I do not want to do anything that could cause a serious problem with that being said. I also want to know if the service wire I have available will be adequate for this oven? It is 8/2 8 AWG 600v PVC coated 3 strand. Its on a 60A braker. I plan on using the 12000W oven control kit from AUBER. TIA ! Please don't hesitate to chime in with suggestions. I am trying to learn as much as I can so I get this right the first time !
