  • which parts to scavange from a household oven??

I bought a used oven the other day to get started in PC and 2 hours later I found a industrial convection oven that was used in a laboratory. I am going to use the convection oven for now. My question is what pieces should I tear out of the household oven to use in the future for a larger oven.

for sure the elements, controls(knobs), contactors and thermostat. basically anything electrical. but just a thought. if the convection is bigger than the house oven you might want to think about haveing more than one. currently i have 3. no sense in heating a big one for small parts.
when in doubt polish it out/ why replace it when you can refinish it

Just dismantled an oven yesterday, the parts I found usefull was a lot of heat resistant wiring, knobs, dials, etc. as mentioned earlier. You will notice if it is an old oven, how well made they were and how much ceramic parts there are. All of these parts have potential use and should not be over looked.
