An old refrigerator, an old stove and some chainlink fence caps but how does it work?

15yr old or not it looks good. the only thing you might need is a fan to circulate the heat. but hey if it works and no hot spots run with it.
when in doubt polish it out/ why replace it when you can refinish it

                That looks great!! Good Job

Maybe a fan like pickle said and possibly a vent in the top. Another suggestion would be to slide a piece of metal under the element, maybe space it up a 1/4". That will help reflect the heat UP..

What are you doing for a door gasket?

That looks great. Is that cement board on the inside?

                    Njznumba1stunna,

I think your oven looks great! I don't want to bust your bubble, BUT, I see some twisted wire, taped electrical connections on the back of your frig. If I were you I would solder these and any other electrical connections that are just taped. After you solder them, then tape them with rubber tape and then plastic tape.

If for some unforeseen reason those connections happen to come apart with the oven on!!! I don't think I have to go into detail as to what could happen.

These connections could also get hot when the oven is on and burn you.

You can also use wire nuts and tape them, but I believe that soldering would give you a better connection.

I'd rather be safe that sorry.

                    John

O, the wires are not connected with tape, I connected them with those things were you crimp both wires to it and it connects them. The tape is just there for, pretty much no reason.

It looks good... I'd give it a A+ for the clever use/recycling of the 'fridge...
I gotts second the taped wiring... solder or wire nut first then tape it up.
15yo or not..Ya did a good job.. Ive seen guys twice your age 'rig' stuff together so bad.. its a wonder they are still walking...
If it jams; Force it. And if it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I can go from 0 to "What seems to be the problem Officer?" in 3 seconds."

How much do you need an element in the top of an oven? I was thinking the side since the heat will accumulate in the top unless a fan like others said.

I ask cause I like this idea.
