would a gas grill work for powdercoating in a pinch?

I need to powdercoat some some small parts off my motor.Don't have a lot of time to constuct a oven, so I was thinking of making a insolated cover for our old grill.This could be simply made to cover it and retain heat,with holes for vents etc.The plan is to preheat the parts and oven,pull them out leaving the oven on high heat while you powdercoat the parts.Then put them back in and shut the gas off letting them just heat soak in oven.This way there should be no problem with it exploding.I would also put in some fire bricks or lots of lava rocks to help retain heat when shut off. Think it would work? Thanks

Rather than that I think you would be more confident either looking in your local paper for a free or cheap toaster or oven. The only reason I say this, is how would you make sure that the parts stay at the desired temp for the length of time you need them to be. You wouldn't want the temp to drop while curing and have to start over.
