  • CFM needed for 4x4x6 oven?

Any suggestions would be great, I see some have a CFM of 1250-sounds like alot to be for powder blow-off. Ours now has 115 CFM in ducted from the top and circulates the air back into the bottom. Just wondering, we are building a second oven, weighing selling the one we have now-have had alot of offers.

    Thanks guys

I used a 215 CFM and it seems to be just enoufg for the ove which is 4'x4'x6' inside measurements.

Thanks....I seen the Knox ovens and how they did their ductwork, i will copy that on the new oven....our 4x4x6 has become too small...seems alot of people in my area need coating done...hooked up with a local chopper shop to do work for them....i asked because the Blue M Electric ovens use a 1250 CFM fan to circulate the air...

I got mine through Grainger. It has a sustained squirrell cage temp rating of 450 deg F.

Termite, is what you bought called a "Inline draft inducer"?

If you are concerned about heat...Popeye introduced me to a great way to get rid of it. Insert a second fan on the outside of the oven blowing the heat that comes up through the shaft past the motor or around it. Works great at keepin her cool!!!! My second fan was 7 bucks and that was it....

Timmer, Interesting concept, but I would like to keep it simple. I just want a fan to put in the duct be built into our oven. I want it mainly to circulate air inside the oven. And I still have not found what we need yet!

                  Mike,
It is simple, only one fan motor.. but two blades. The fan motor is mounted outside the oven, shaft goes through the oven wall. One blade on the shaft is inside the oven, the other blade is on the same shaft outside the oven.

                    Popeye,
I have seen the pics of the motor mounted on the exterior of the oven, but we already have a duct built into our oven just waiting for the install of an inline fan.

                      Mike,
How big is the duct, wheres it located..? Still might be able to come up with a simple inexpensive solution with a little more info.
A high temp in-line fan is gonna be major money.. it's NEVER a good idea the have the motor in the high temp air stream.
An in-line draft inducer does not put the motor in the air stream either..

                        Popeye,
Thank you for your offer, Termite came through with a Grainger part number for exactly what I am looking for. As a matter of fact, he did his oven duct, very, very similair to ours (or visa versa).
I have already ordered the fan which is a high heat squirrel cage type and will work perfectly!
Thanks everyone for all the input!!!!

Got the Grainger/Dayton fan. $100.00 and worth it! EAsy to install.
