I am interesting in plating parts myself -- mostly using CopyChrome, nickel and copper -- but I have a part that I need gold plated, and I don't want to invest in a system for gold plating simply for one item.
The piece is a flat, thin brass plate, measuring 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches in size, that is a decorative part of a morse code key base. It originally was gold plated, but the plating is worn off in a couple of areas, though much of the rest of the gold plate is still intact.
I'm interested in getting it plating repaired/ replated. I can buy a new replacement plate for $70, so I'm not sure this is a job worth fooling with.
The plate is not heavy, and I'll gladly ship it to anyone who will plate/repair it for me. The plate itself is in good condition.
Suggestions and ideas most welcome! Thanks!
